  • can wikitext shortcuts to wikipedia (and other wikimedia sites) be toggled on?
  • what about importing bots and scripts (like WikEd) and list compilers and such?
  • assistance for naive/less skilled editors?
    • Media labs, 'village pump', 'Tea House' 4 newbs ?
  • meta wiki about wiki space ?
    • "GameB:xyz" ? some minimal user/editor guidelines ?
  • Universally delayed page update posting to deter vandal vulnerability and decrease sense-of-urgency that leads to edit wars on WP ?
    • what vandal/bot attack plan is in place? what might need to be?
    • perhaps have suchlike remedies 'staged' for implementation if/as necessary; balance openness and caution
    • moderation over rule bloat? interpersonal approach? hmm…

  • change universal theme? "Vector" as default brings others to mind for me, and I think the logo goes better with "Timeless" colors – also its look seems more modern and streamlined, less old square clunky, which might help appeal to younger ~B's. ~~ 07:20, 21 January 2020 (PST)

    • perhaps have a page here linking such; like to a dedicated facebook/messenger/twitter/discord/etc. from which editors can opt/check in for notifications
      • for now perhaps a linkable private group/page (eventually with multiple mods) on Facebook
      • can an email inbox be forwarded to multiple peoples accounts? I'm thinking of anthropomorphising the wiki as an entity a bit and giving it it's own email and social accounts which multiple mods could monitor ~~ 09:08, 21 January 2020 (PST)
    • might there be some way (API, or ?) for something to trigger a notice here ? and/or embed (like an Atom feed or such; coming into the wiki as opposed to out of it)
    • dedicated file dump and pastebin hosted somewhere perhaps? people could drop Google/Word docs (and odt/txt/etc.) that wiki editors could copy/paste and tweak to suit; might be ~B positive to encourage/require open formats, i.e. nudge folks to use LibreOffice (or at least get used to exporting from Word/etc. in an open format).
      • do imgur/instagram/ and/or some other have a way to tag some shared editor community account to trigger image notices? more experienced/savvy minds might be of use; perhaps once we've got some basics down crowdsource in Game~B spaces like Facebook group and reddit would help with such; am leaning towards gradual baby steps – would be nice to have a motivated/interested core before inviting in a risk of bikeshedding, others self joining like myself and perhaps some targeted invites (and/or phrase platform inquiries in a generalized way; lol, I'm trying to balance ~B aesthetic and 50 years of experience with humans, gonna' need to meditate and discuss a bit; "just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get ya'" lol, and it's wise to take care with foundations, to build on solid foundations ... hmm ... and not to poison-the-well with too much Game A defensiveness; we should be so lucky if a few technical questions bring in a horde of interest, lol, am recalling not everyone gets as enthused about such as I do; say a little prayer and ask might be the best approach) ~~ 08:56, 21 January 2020 (PST)

  • what's up with solid and fine-double alternation in ---- underlining? e.g. User:KevB-ing/Links
  • Inquire on MediaWiki wiki as to whether VisualEditor has been tested with the "Timeless" theme.
