Landau mathematical applications ideas[edit]
Ideas for "applications" texts following the landau books:
vol 4 QED:
-more tasteful gauge theory
-something good on vertex algebras
overlap with weinberg applications? where should weinberg go?
-green's functions
vol 5 statphys:
-quantum groups by sternberg
-parisi statistical field theory
vol 6 fluids:
-Arnol'd topological hydrodynamics
vol 7 elasticity:
generalized continua from theory to engineering applications
vol 8 material EM:
-technical details of grid engineering, some circuits are in Hermann too
vol 9 quantum statphys:
-more condensed matter, probably (this one should be easy with applications from QFT too)

Finishing applications under mechanics, Paul Aspinwall and Paul Seidel are the likely culprits of the to-be final resources on symplectic topology.
Statistical mechanics is nearing completion, I want to connect it properly to AI. Watanabe's mathematical theory of Bayesian statistics does not make much mention of statistical mechanics, but is appropriate. Maybe the next closest thing is this book on information geometry. Taking things slowly.
Finally, the 'engineering volumes' (7 and 8) need theoretical books about technological applications and finite element analysis of these situations. The analogous thing for quantum mechanics (computational chemistry) can take place on the quantum mechanics page.
