Dick Gregory

On 5/15/1968 The US government directed local FBI to consider a plan to get La Cosa Nostra to kill black comic Dick Gregory. No. Really.

5:42 AM · May 14, 2010

Do we really have a black US president from Chicago(?!) with absolutely no idea of the history of taking out 'hits'? http://bit.ly/drPouP

Richard Gregory's passing reminded me that Dick Gregory is still very much alive. As moving a profile as you will read: http://bit.ly/amtS4o

Dick Gregory was an incredible soul and my personal inspiration for many years. The details of his life are totally energizing to me so I hope this play is phenomenal.

Read this 2004 article and just try not to be inspired by him to take on the world: https://t.co/H6MZLLMiSi

@ThomasHughson @joerogan Dick Gregory thinking the FBI was conspiring to have him killed? Does that work for you?

1/ WE NEED A NEW CHURCH COMMITTEE: Fred Hampton Edition.

Today is the 50th anniversary of the US assassination of our own citizen Fred Hampton, inventor of the Rainbow Coalition. This year is the 40th anniversary of our killing of Jean Seberg via the FBI direction of our Press.

2/ With the inexplicable “Perfect Storm” death of Jeffrey Epstein & likely govt direction of our corporate press not to seek categorical denial of our intelligence community w regard to ANY link to Jeffrey Epstein’s pedophilia & traffic in minors, we MUST investigate our own IC.

6:10 PM · Dec 4, 2019

3/ We would never have learned about our own Government crimes against MLK Jr, Dick Gregory, Jean Seberg, Fred Hampton & others if we the people were not in control of our permanent Government class.

Without investigation, the people are no longer in control of our Govenrment.

6:10 PM · Dec 4, 2019

4/ What‘s the emergency? It’s the silence & bizarre behavior around Epstein:

Q1: Ghislaine Maxwell has a passport. Where and when was it last recorded and why is this of interest to no corporate media?

Q2: Where is the categorical denial or refusal to comment on IC ties to JE?

6:10 PM · Dec 4, 2019

5/ Q3: Prince Andrew’s interview is close to the most bizarre thing I‘ve ever seen on video. Those questions were all expected. What was that?

Fred Hampton reminds us that our permanent class in Gov’t can kill extrajudicially. Jean Seberg reminds us it uses our press against us.

6:10 PM · Dec 4, 2019

6/ Learn to listen for the “sounds of silence”. Silence around @AndrewYang and @TulsiGabbard. Silence around Ghislaine. Silence around Epstein’s Villard House office in NYC and trading records. Silence around IC ties. And silence around the Church & Pike Committees. #BackToChurch

6:10 PM · Dec 4, 2019

End/ I’m calling on @AndrewYang, @BernieSanders, @TulsiGabbard & other Mavericks to LEAD the charge asking about the silence reaching epidemic proportions. It‘s time to investigate ourselves which has always been A NORMAL PART OF DEMOCRACY. It has nothing to do w tinfoil 🎩s.🙏

This is the corner of Beverly and Fairfax if I’m not mistaken. Where @billmaher shoots @RealTimers. Where the famous Los Angeles Farmers Market is.

The world is ready to go up in flames. The trick is how to revolt locally without the whole planet going sideways. Can it be done?

4:27 AM · May 31, 2020

Here is the thing that I have a hard time communicating:

Revolts are essential, if for no other reason than to prevent those more significant revolutions which we cannot afford. The power of the governed must be felt by the instutions and their leaders. And they don’t feel. Yet.

4:27 AM · May 31, 2020

We want to communicate with our leaders. But many of us are not taken seriously. We aren’t big political donors. We don’t have fancy titles. We are just people who aren’t in on the kleptocracy. That is, the gentile white shoe looting that happens daily in the corridors of power.

4:27 AM · May 31, 2020

So how do I feel about looting & arson? Well, in a better 🌍 I‘d opt for enormous menacing protests that were sufficient to wake those in power to cut their infinite crap. But in my dreams, they‘d stop short of damage & violence. What can I say, Dick Gregory was a hero to me.

4:27 AM · May 31, 2020

Now, I don’t know. Is there any way to reach @realDonaldTrump 74 or the DNC. Are @senatemajldr 78 or @SpeakerPelosi 80 really going to change their minds? @JoeBiden 77? Is it worth it to them to start all over now? Maybe. But they are all sufficiently old it doesn’t seem likely.

4:27 AM · May 31, 2020

So I’m divided. I want enormous threatening protests to be over everything that has gone seriously wrong: PPE, police brutality, Chinese meddling, campaign financing and generalized corruption. But I‘m repulsed by looting & the meaningless loss of safety due to arson & vandalism.

4:27 AM · May 31, 2020

Some will say that this is impossible. Big crowds turn ugly they‘ll say.

And I will say: study MLK. Study Gregory. Study Mother Jones. And pay attention to @KillerMike. You have to be mad to want to burn it all down. But madder still to dare to build again amidst this chaos.

🙏

  • genteel! Obviously. Jeez. What an auto-correct way to guess wrong. Gentle, Gentile, Genteel, Genital. I’ve been here several times before...
4:30 AM · May 31, 2020

For some reason I just never get up in the morning and think “How do we undo the legacies of Dick Gregory, Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King Jr., Ruby Bridges, Paul Robeson, Etc. so we can just have an all out race war in our heavily armed nation instead?”

Maybe I’m old. And tired.

11:26 PM · Jul 1, 2020

A major connection to our past lost. He outlived an unrepentant Sheriff Jim Clark by 13 years.

We forget what non-violent protest is, so it‘s worth going back to Ghandi’s theory to remember who these people like John Lewis were.

It’s not peaceful: It was pre-committing to die.

7:32 AM · Jul 18, 2020

I’m not current, but my recollection is that even Malcolm X was actually terrified to march in a non-violent protest like the one where John Lewis encountered Clark’s police thugs and horses. That was the year I was born.

So how is a peaceful protest different from non-violence?

7:32 AM · Jul 18, 2020

Gandhi oddly *despised* pacifism, and actually preached the legitimacy of violence for those w/ true courage like Malcolm X, but who lacked the totally unfathomable bravery of folks like MLK, John Lewis & Dick Gregory who precomitted to *not* defend themselves or their families.

7:32 AM · Jul 18, 2020

If you have never thought about how these folks actually accomplished the civil rights victories and have their marches confused for Peaceful protests when President Johnson refused to send troops , it‘s worth looking at the footage & thinking about what they did with fresh eyes.

7:32 AM · Jul 18, 2020

You can imagine you would have joined such protests. I would likely not have been able to do it. We are talking about people who, if we are truly honest with ourselves, were on a totally different level from almost all of us.

RIP John Lewis. American. Hero.

As I often point out, the US Federal Government is *proven* to be capable of conspiring to use our independent American News Media to covertly tarnish famous law abiding politically inconvenient Americans.

“Seberging”-cancellation is not conspiracy theory. It is conspiracy-fact.

Actress Jean Seberg was born November 13, 1938.

Fifty years ago, a senior editor at the Los Angeles Times came into possession of a dangerous piece of gossip, leaked to the paper by the FBI. We printed it, and the actress' life was destroyed.

Ask yourself: how many prominent law abiding politically inconvenient people has the US government tried to destroy?

We know:

Fred Hampton
John Lennon
Jean Seberg
Dick Gregory
MLK
Pete Seeger

How many other news hit pieces come from the Deep State & are fed to news? Only one?

I believe that we used to have real heroes (e.g. Katherine Hepburn) & our heroes got too expensive for our institutional class. Now, all who start to show too much public independence seem mysteriously to get taken down by media (e.g. @elonmusk).

After Jean, we have to wonder...

Think how impossible it is to believe this. The *only* time we ever really checked our own intelligence, we found a deep state using our mainstream independent news media to destroy citizens over politics.

Q: How many cancellation stories have you read? Are they ALL journalism?

Q: Who is writing these god-like messages at Twitter?

TIM is:

Technology-Intelligence-Media

I’ll be very surprised if there‘s no quiet TIM working-group, ostensibly around foreign meddling in US matters, that has been exceeding a narrow mandate to influence what we see here.🙏

Memoir of Dick Gregory? Hurricane by Bob Dylan? George Carlin Stand up? Mikado After the first libretto?

This is a game. As if we can’t tell the difference use of a word and derision (relevant to the last of the four above only). Now we demand *you* to form the word client side!
