Here’s a thought many college educated folks can never have:
Large long running deadly institutional conspiracies are commonplace. Could be tobacco, war, pharma, food, law & order, immigration, regime change, etc.

As I often point out, the US Federal Government is *proven* to be capable of conspiring to use our independent American News Media to covertly tarnish famous law abiding politically inconvenient Americans.

Fifty years ago, a senior editor at the Los Angeles Times came into possession of a dangerous piece of gossip, leaked to the paper by the FBI. We printed it, and the actress' life was destroyed.

I believe that we used to have real heroes (e.g. Katherine Hepburn) & our heroes got too expensive for our institutional class. Now, all who start to show too much public independence seem mysteriously to get taken down by media (e.g. @elonmusk).

Think how impossible it is to believe this. The *only* time we ever really checked our own intelligence, we found a deep state using our mainstream independent news media to destroy citizens over politics.
