Q:Given that 'peer review' is objectively a major danger to innovators, why make it difficult-to-impossible to arbitrage? Cui bono?
@gjb2345 This is the 1st I'm hearing that @Cernovich is a quality journalist! I thought he was a journalism arbitrageur. Does he agree w u?
There are 2 reserved phrases business uses for arbitraging the letter of the law against its spirit: "a beautiful thing", "perfectly legal."
@GadSaad Ah! Trying to arbitrage a Gadfather permission against the Scaramucci directive?
Perfectly Legal, adj.: Of a case where the letter of the law has been arbitraged against its spirit (see Pettifog).
Iāll say it this way. My ālived experienceā is different in 3 ways:
A) My learning differences (I.e. disabilities) caused my intelligence, creativity & output to be invisible to essentially every educator I encountered. My own IQ is lower than many imagine due to āprocessingā.
B) We know far more about proven Black analytic abilities and contributions than we do about IQ as a predictor of intelligence.
C) I seem to live in the thick far right tail of Black Genius. Yet my Portal episode with @elewrockjazz was one of my least popular. So: Did I goof?
No. I have the best audience in podcasting and even here I believe my audience is just wrong. Eric Lewis is almost incomprehensible to me and I am sure it is because, as the surprisingly low IQ Richard Feynman (125?) once memorably said, his āMachines come from too far away.ā
This is contrarian investing 101: you only profit when everybody is confused & thinks youāre an idiot! Well Iām betting that everyone who thinks IQ is intelligence and that Black Americans canāt excel at STEM is wrong. If you follow me you know I think the š is generally nuts.
Lastly, every day I have an experience that parallels Black American lives. Iām neurodivergent & a disagreeable contrarian. So I have an army of people telling me from the moment I get up until I go to sleep that Iām various things Iām absolutely not with no way to correct them.
Ask @ParkerMolloy or @dandrezner and theyāll tell you Iām an idiot or a dullard/liar respectively...despite a Harvard PhD in math. Doesnāt matter! Iām a Dunnig-Kruger poster child to these people. Or Iām a libertarian when Iām anti-libertarian. Or Alt Right when progressive. Etc.
This is what I assume it is like to be Black in a White dominated world: you are lied to about who you are almost every second of every day. You canāt afford to notice it; itās like not noticing air *because* it is everywhere around you and I see Black analytic genius everywhere.
What are the odds that every single teacher you have is terrible? Very low if youāre Neurotypical. But very high if youāre Neurodivergent. Well, think of Black Americans as an ENORMOUS neurodivergent invisible community. They arenāt black: theyāre clear & you look right through.
So forgive me. I donāt trust the IQ testing. Call it the St. Lucia effect: tiny St Lucia has one of the lowest IQ scoring populations on š and also one of the Highest Noble Laureates per capita counts. The great thing about this planet is how much arbitrage opportunity exists.š
And I just want to say thank you to the professional commentariat, the experts, the journalists, the economists, the professors, the politicians & SJWs who make a point of getting almost everything wrong every-single-day. You created the opportunity of a lifetime.
I thank you.š
*Nobel Laureates.
I know: āYour spelling, grammar and incomprehensiblity show that you arenāt the mind you think yourself to be Einstein. Youāre embarrassing yourself. Etc.ā
Heh heh. Iāll just show my self out and delete my account now...how embarrassing! ;-)
The Principal of the Trump Train: For all who got on the train as independent thinkers believing they had spotted an arbitrage against the true cancers in our society, there will be a precise moment they get off the train realizing its full danger. Beware of missing this stop:
Look to those who have āstopped outā of their trade. It doesnāt mean embracing Biden or the Media. They are not reasonable. It means being w/o a current plan. Itās better to tread water for a while hoping a ship will pass or land will be seen than to head right for the sea floor.
*Principle
Unpopular Opinion: musical and STEM intelligences are largely fungible and represent massive human Capital arbitrage opportunities. You may have to clear a lot of confounding cognitive debris out of the way first, but the opportunity exists and is largely unexploited.
What bad thing happens to a university that refuses to implement Diversity/Equity/Inclusion(tm), announces that the imbalances are the result of complicated forces not limited to oppression, and decides to go back to academic rigor while firing administrators to pre-1990 levels?
Next question: Why canāt we try it with even *one* major private research university? As an experiment? What is causing the *universal* lurch towards Critical Theory, Post-Modernism, sky high tuition, low rigor, and censorship? Why is no university arbitraging this situation FTW?
Most importantly; is there any evidence that BLS is actually computing inflation within a Cost-of-Living framework as it claims? Are we really computing inflation, or are we managing the exoteric perception of inflation, as you appear to be doing here, while masking the esoteric?
The great danger here is that the economic worldview is powerful precisely because it arbitrages deep analysis (which caused me to count myself a fan of yours) with fantasy, arrogance and cryptic political cheerleading disguised as analysis (which lost me as a fan of yours).
Q: to what extent should a *portion* of economics be put into intellectual receivership and managed by other fields until economics becomes intellectually more solvent? To what extent should we undo āEconomic Imperialismā?
Would love to have it out.
I would like nothing better than to get the ātruthinessā you mention out of economics. But it may not go as well as you are expecting. This aināt the ā70s ā80s or ā90s anymore, after all.
Letās talk ātruthinessā. Are you game?
Itās interesting just how completely the idea of science as part of a non market long term agreement has disappeared.
Letās make sure we figure out Dark Matter and the Origin of Life by Q3 so we can raise a Series A.
Should we allow Nancy Pelosi to invest in Pfizer and Pfizer to establish a nonprofit charitable organization to contribute to @EcoHealthNYC and @TheLancet? That way we can get capital appreciation through recurring Pharma revenue!
Q: Have we all gone completely insane?
We definitely need to look into Science as a Service in crowdfunded CRISPR using NFTs to use the wisdom of crowds in worldwide BioHacking competitions to take advantage of Regulatory arbitrage with floating labs in international waters.
Letās f***ing go! #amiright ?!!!!!
