My following is mostly millennial. I have a lot of contact w/ them.

As a result I know something I wouldn’t know otherwise: many, if not all, of them don’t relate to what we call being millennial. They want to be full adults & are not finding paths to becoming full stakeholders.

The oldest of these Millennials are now almost 40. In my original area of academe and science, it is time for GenX & Millennials to stop running out of fuel in infinite holding patterns. We should start ignoring air traffic control & land the planes. Crash landing if necessary.

Here’s the problem. It‘s time for Millenials to start becoming univ. presidents. Yet only a tiny number of research universities even have any GenX heads! Likewise, notice that Millenial @TulsiGabbard & Xer AndrewYang surge, but are dropped from corporate media promoting Boomers.

Q: Should we start talking about bringing back Mandatory Retirement to stop involuntary inter-generational wealth transfer? Consider that we will have spent 20 Yrs exploring US presidents born in the summer of the 1st year of the baby boom. 24 if Trump (b. 1946) is re-elected.

Since Trump, Clinton & Bush were at the beginning of the Baby Boom, It is theoretically possible (though it won’t happen this way) that if we continued this pattern, it could be 2044 before we were ready to elect a GenX or Millenial or GenZ POTUS.

Yet we don’t talk about this.

I think since @AndrewYang got deliberately and repeatedly dropped from media graphics and since @HillaryClinton started targeting @TulsiGabbard I’ve been radicalized.

It is not intergenerational warfare to tell grandma to get her finger off the scales of democracy and economics.

Q: Why are we not talking about bringing back mandatory retirement for academicians who have prevented two generations from taking their seats and talking about legal action against corporate media like @MSNBC who distort the news of our non boomer candidates gaining traction?🙏

2020

So far as I know have never seen this phenomena before.

Only one generation is stewarding our collective future. *Every* research university has loaded up mountains of student debt, armies of unwanted administrators, foreign STEM workers, and soaring tuition costs.

Every one.

11:35 PM · Jan 25, 2020

As recently as the 1980s, the median age of a university President was 51 I believe or thereabouts. That would be *more* than half of them Millenial and GenX.

We have simply never experimented with one generation as dominant and as unconcerned for the collective future before.

11:35 PM · Jan 25, 2020

Any attempt to question their stewardship results in allegations of agism, xenophobia, elitism and sour grapes.

But look at the graphs of any research university. They all tell the same story. You don’t even have to tell me which one. It’s a coming time-bomb.

This is E.G.O.s.
