The New Gimmick Economy is a term coined by Eric Weinstein in his 2016 Edge essay Anthropic Capitalism and the New Gimmick Economy to describe the methods governments, central banks, and other institutions use to maintain the appearance of a healthy market economy in the absence of growth.
