20+ years ago I would go to jazz/blues shows and all hell could break loose with black audiences. I came to see my own group as repressed.
I bought my first blues vinyl at Tower on Sunset. Will any kid ever experience that epiphany now that John Lee Hooker is muzak at Starbucks?
My unrealized musical trifecta.
Europe: Harmony-Tempering
Melody: American-African Blues-Jazz
Rhythm: South-Asian Classical
If I could pick any instrument on which to hear blues melody, it would be voice, sarangi, and piano in that order. 2 down.....
