Why?

I just have no insight into this. I know nothing about it. I think it is interesting, and that we should keep an open mind. But it seems to be a comet. 🤷‍♀️

|content=You hear me commenting on [[CPI]] and inflation, but you don’t hear me commenting on 2026 growth forecasts. Why? Because I know nothing about the latter, while I do know how our economists lie about [[CPI]] measurement.

You don’t hear me commenting about family reunification immigration but you do hear me saying that [[H-1B Visa|H1B]] was an unethical scam by the Reagan Era [[National Science Foundation (NSF)|@NSF]] and [[National Academy of Sciences (NAS)|@theNASciences]]. Why? Because I know a LOT about one and little about the other.

|content=In general, I try to stick to things that I have looked at in some depth on where I can at least hope to have  some insight.

Of course I fail at this. I don’t always manage to restrain myself from commenting and I frankly don’t think I have any *obligation* to do so…but my opinions on things like 3I/Atlas where I know little are just very close to noise. And I don’t want to contribute to that. 

There are a lot of people on @X who seem to have an opinion on most technical things. You can always consult them.
