We are going to need algorithmic transparency from Twitter through regulation. We are going to need to rein in the Feds ability to print its way into crushing the working class through seignorage and blowing out income inequality for holders of risk assets.

We are going to need to scale back our military obligations so we can actually be counted upon by our partners. We are going to need to prohibit the Whitehouse from attempting to label those who raise the president’s cognitive decline as “Purveyors of misinformation.”

We are going to need hearings on the intelligence community and it’s relationship to pedophiles like Jeff Epstein endangering our children. We are going to need the receipts and federal securities filings from his likely non-existent hedge fund. We need student debt forgiveness.

|content=I think this isn’t right.

We have a world where institutions BLATANTLY lie in the vague direction of the truth to make the truth…uh…punchier. More viral.

Some people, upon detecting the lies (e.g. “Climate modeling is settled science”), decide there’s no truth in it *at all*.

Many believe there is no chance COVID was Zoonotic because we are lying about the lab by saying it has to be Zoonotic. But we don’t know.

Many people are convinced Ivermectin is a total COVID solution since we’re obviously lying about human medicine as Horse Dewormer. It isn’t.

No one knows if Epstein killed himself. We just know our papers aren’t aggressively reporting that story. So many assume Epstein’s death is fake or an obvious hit. Because it could be either, but our lame institutions don’t dare ask even the easy questions. So we lurch to oppose.

Many people don’t believe that Russia/Ukraine is a threat or even real because they can see the obvious daily spin. But it is a huge threat and an atrocity. We’re just lying and spinning parts of it.

They don’t believe the Fed has ANY function because it does do some bad stuff.

Moral: if you want a better model of Trump Supporters try this one: they prefer idiosyncratic lying/spin/distortion by a gadfly as an antidote to coordinated credentialed institutional polished lying with amazing production values. Further, they don’t think *anyone* offers truth.

But they will react to spin and hype as if there is ZERO substance behind it if that spin and hype are coordinated across multiple venues, institutions & talking heads.

They aren’t principally embracing Trump or idiocy. They are rejecting obvious coordination of hype.

|content=One wish for Father’s Day: That every Dad w a daughter ask one simple question: “Why are our news organizations not asking whether Jeffrey Epstein was a state sponsored Intelligence agent of one or more nations whose trafficking of little kids was protected as ‘Sources&Methods’?”

There’s something that is just too horrible to imagine: that no leading news organization will pursue the question of whether an Intelligence agency of any nation would be permitted to allow an affiliate to traffic little girls. I see 0 evidence that Epstein managed a hedge fund.

I personally don’t believe there was a hedge fund. I don’t believe Epstein was a “disgraced Financier”. I don’t believe he was ever a multi-billionaire. I don’t believe he made his own money. I don’t believe he traded currencies successfully. So: Where does this story come from?

If you’re going to report that he’s a “disgraced hedge fund manager”, go produce your evidence! Where is the evidence of this hedge fund??? Where are its trading records? Who was its prime broker? Did it focus on Carry trades? Mean Reversion? Trend following?

Or is it all a lie.

We Dads might at least stand together against any nation’s Intelligence Community trafficking children. If we can’t do that, I don’t know why Dad’s matter. And I’m convinced Dad’s matter.
