The Portal Discord Onboarding Guide

We are a group of people who found each other through Eric Weinstein. This is an area to document the ideas that Eric has brought up on his podcast, The Portal, as well as some other mediums in which he has contributed. The community is comprised of different groups of people who discuss those ideas, work on projects to further understand those ideas.

There are a few areas in which you will consume information, discuss and participate. For starters

Where do I start?

You already have by being here. If this is your first interaction with The Portal, you should probably subscribe and start listening to The Portal Podcast. Many of the topics Eric discusses are complicated, and maybe over your head. This wiki helps document those ideas and they provide reference material and further reading. Additionally, there are Discord Servers dedicated to discussions of the podcasts, topics, and projects.

Read through this, then go and click some of the links above, and start reading.

How do I participate?

This all depends on what you want to do, what you are good at, and what you want to learn about.

  • Discussions
  • Programming
  • Video
  • Art
  • Mathematics
  • Physics
  • Biology

Join the Discord servers and jump into one of the chats, catch up on some of the conversations and ask questions. See if your skillset and time are gonna help contribute to the project. If you still want to join then simply provide proof of past work in the lobby-and-introductions (Discord ID : 701792384773521428) and wait for one of the rollers to accept your request.

What are the ways to contribute to projects and gain access to the other channels?

The quickest way to be let into the server is to show us some work that you've done. Something you've made. Once we have evidence that you can get stuff done, we're pretty inviting.
