Fact-Checker, n.: 1) Someone who attempts to decrease allowed public deviation from official narratives found in “authoritative sources” under the guise of checking facts. 2) Someone who simply checks claims for bases in facts [archaic usage, common pre-internet].

And @snopes, @datasociety, @TwitterSafety, @NiemanLab, @Poynter, @TaylorLorenz and @nytimes are concerned that this is not being “fact-checked”.
