Many are confused by my frequent response to bizarre official narratives is “I don’t know what’s going on. But I do know that things don’t seem to add up.”

Many of you who know things don’t add up claim you know why.

Many of you who wish to stay sane claim things add up.

To me it’s confusing how you can claim to know. The defining feeling of our time is non-resolution and nearly infinite delay of actual understanding.

I have called this the “Locrian era.” All other western scales/modes have both the 5th & a tonic for resolution. Except Locrian.

Nobody really gravitates to Locrian to be honest. But learning to recognize it as a metaphor for COVID origins, Inflation calculation, NORAD shoot downs, Bizarre failures of journalism, Vaccine misrepresentation, Social Media control by govt. etc helps me:

If you’re a musician try playing Locrian songs. Now tell me they don’t fit this time: unsettled, frustrated, lacking a convincing center or home. Not yet minor doom, nor major brightness and flexibility. But floating in limbo in twisted modernity.

This era, to me, seems Locrian.

@GrizTez You are thinking above the “Tonic”. You are stuck with three gaping wholesteps below it. The price to be paid is that imbalance of the above and below.

There are no popular melodies in Locrian. It’s a theoretical scale to make the system look complete. The 5th is the brightest part of natural overtones. So when you lower the 5th you get uncontrollable minor second dissonances each time played. Avoid 5th — and you’re in Phrygian.

@antonabramov I like a good bullfight as much as the next guy. And the flat 2nd is even more powerful with a major third a la North Africa. But that is not the locrian challenge. We do accept the Tritone in a 7th chord. It’s just a challenge to understand what it means. Perfect for this era.
