April is the 40th anniversary of the US Governent neutralization of Jean Seberg. If you don't know the story, it is not really believable.
Jean Seberg, iconic blonde & star of "Breathless", joined NAACP at 14 in Iowa & later the Black Panther Party (like biologist Bob Trivers).
The LA TImes & Newsweek then ran the FBI planted story that blonde Seberg was carrying a Black Panther child. The black baby meme is strong.
So long story short, Seberg has a breakdown while pregnant, loses baby Nina, & displays the child's white body to the press. No, seriously.
I bring this up as a proxy to the killing of Fred Hampton, the originator of the 'Rainbow Coalition'. The Seberg documentation is better.

Ok. So I havenāt been talking about this, but I need to start. My friend Alex was just sentenced to 4 years in Federal prison on April 1st for old charges related to what is effectively ābootleggingā of cannabis as Schedule 1 substance (no medical benefit + propensity for abuse).
Anyway, Iām trying to explain to my kids why a plant now advertised on buses in San Francisco & with medical recommendations from physicians having no particularly serious abuse pattern beyond alcohol (which is much much worse) is a Schedule 1 drug putting an uncle in prison.
Something is very wrong. Why are we incarcerating black Americans involved with weed at a different rate than whites? Why are we imprisoning a brilliant physicist/CEO/artist under a nonsensical Schedule 1 determination that ignores the science & open rebellion by states? Anyone?
This has had me off my game for several days. Iāve felt helpless watching this grind towards conclusion. We need to take apart this machinery of ājusticeā. More kids need the non-violent adults who love them back at their dinner tables. Fighting refer madness in 2019 is madness.
I stand with the non violent cannabis offenders. They shouldnāt do it. But letās cut the crap & also realize our scientific and moral hypocrisy. These arenāt dangerous folks who need to be kept from society at taxpayer expense. This is my good friend.
