|content=I‘m noticing a disconnect as well. Since I know very little about this, here’s what I generally do: watch for any disconnect between images & reported news.
 
If they’re fake, that’s a news story. If they are misinterpreted, that too is a news story. Then ask “Where is that news?”

|content=In short, the best we can usually do is map instutional silence and media under-reporting from a baseline. Here, the *minimal* baseline possible story is panic based on misinterpreted images. When something like that goes underreported, it’s usually a major clue something is off.

I’m looking for CDC guidance, NPR stories about the images and institutional experts willing to use their own name and credentials to explain what we are seeing as normal for China.
